There is no permanent Jewish settlement in Nauri, but Nauru has hosted two Israeli pediatricians, Hadar and Danny Yardeni. The couple, he a pediatric surgeon at Ha’emek Hospital in Afula and she a pediatrician and deputy medical director in the northern district of Maccabi Health Services, were on the islands for two months.

Dr. Hadar Yardeni gave advice on health promotion and disease prevention and pediatric care, while Danny Yardeni  performed surgery on the islands, which has 7,000 children out of 13,000 residents.
